🚨 Community Alert: WhatsApp Impersonation Scam

Salaamun Alaykum.

Please do not respond to any personal messages claiming to be from “Al Mustafa Prayer Group” or any similar name, and do not engage with anyone trying to connect with you through Zoom or other social media platforms. These are scammers attempting to hack your Whatsapp Account.

How the scam works:

  1. The scammer pretends to be Al-Mustafa or someone you know, often using familiar names or profile photos.
  2. They ask you to share a WhatsApp verification code or click a suspicious link.
  3. Once they gain control of your account, they message your contacts asking for money, often claiming it’s urgent or a temporary loan.

Please remember:

  • Al-Mustafa will NEVER ask for your WhatsApp verification code or login details.
  • Do NOT share any codes or click unfamiliar links, even if the message appears to come from someone you trust.
  • If you receive a suspicious message, verify by calling the person directly or reaching out through official channels

If you’ve been affected:

  • Log out of WhatsApp on all devices and secure your account immediately.
  • Inform your contacts that your account was compromised.
  • Report the scam to WhatsApp
